Abstract :
The idea of combining RS (Reed-Solomon) codes with multiphase signaling schemes on fading channels is introduced. The performance of these schemes over a Rayleigh fading channel is evaluated for different decoding strategies, i.e., errors-only, errors-and-erasures, and soft-decision decoding techniques. Both analytical and simulation results show that substantial coding gains are obtained compared to the uncoded reference system
