Waveguide filters using high-impedance mode conversion/reconversion

A band-rejection filter using high-impedance mode conversion/reconversion is described. The high-impedance properties of the resonant elements make it possible to add these elements to a conventional bandpass cavity, and thereby obtain a combined circuit with complex transmission properties. An example is described in which two transmission bands, with a frequency of high rejection in between, are realised in one physical cavity.
