Abstract :
Output voltages and pulse shapes from shielded magnetoresistive read heads of the finite pole-tip configuration were calculated using a numerical solution of the integral form of Maxwell\´s equations. Isolated pulse shapes and "all ones" output voltage versus transition density are shown as a function of shield length and permeability.
