Abstract :
In this paper we described about the effect of asymmetrical magnetization of inverter transformer on output voltage waveform. Since the DC excitation in inverter transformer can not be cancelled completely, it is necessary to make clear of its effect on the operating characteristics of inverter for design of inverter. The asymmetrical magnetization of inverter transformer has a direct effect upon higher harmonics of output voltage. It can also produce the subharmonics in output voltage if inverter circuit constants satisfy a certain condition. The higher harmonics up to fifth, 1/2 subharmonic and 1/3 subharmonic voltage which have great effects on the operating characteristics of inverter are investigated theoretically and experimentally. A means described in this paper may be applied to design of current type inverter.
