Abstract :
The saturation magnetostriction constants λsof the as prepared and the annealed Fe100-xBxand (Fe1-xCox)78Si8B14amorphous ribbons were measured at room temperature by a three terminal capacitance method. As a result, the magnetostriction constants in Fe100-xBxamorphous ribbons became larger by annealing at 300°C for 3 hours in Ar atmosphere, and the constants increased with the decrease of the B concentration x and reached 49× 10-6at x=12. In (Fe1-xCox)78Si8B14amorphous ribbons, the magnetostriction constant became larger by annealing for x=0.01, but the constant had almost no change for x=0.15. A prototype electronically controllable delay line was made by using the Fe74Co8Si4B14amorphous ribbon and the variable delay time was about 0.8μsec at the frequency range from 1MHz to 4MHz.
