Abstract :
The performance of the ramp-type nonferrous metal separator is analyzed on the basis of statistical considerations involving the probability of collisions between metal and nonmetal particles and entrapment of metal particles by nonmetal particles. A general mathematical theory is developed which allows calculation of grade and recovery for single- and double-pass tests as a function of divider positions and feedrates.
