Proposed quarter squares double dual-slope digital wattmeter

A proposed a.c. digital wattmeter is described. It combines the principles of the double dual-slope multiplying analogue-digital convertor and of the quarter squares multiplier with those of the sampling digital wattmeter to provide an alternative wattmeter system where multiplication, digitising, averaging, and integration may be performed using relatively few components. The new system offers some possible advantages over a previous successful double dual-slope wattmeter.
