Abstract :
Numerical methods for evaluating detection thresholds of logarithmic receivers are described and compared. The f.f.t. and importance sampling methods provide good accuracy for a small to medium range of samples. Helstrom´s method and the Gram¿Charlier series provide good accuracy for a large number of samples.
