Abstract :
The effects of Mo addition to the Co-Fe-Nb semihard magnetic alloys were studied for the purpose of increasing their coercivity without losing good cold workability. These alloys show a peak value in coercivity when they are annealed at 650°C and the peak value increases with Mo content. Considering for an application as remanent reed contact, the Co-15%Fe-4%Nb-Mo alloys with 2 to 3% Mo were superior to the others. The microstructure relating to the magnetic hardening of the Co-Fe-Nb-Mo alloys has been also investigated.
