Abstract
A least-squares output estimation algorithm is presented for applications where the output is sampled at a slower rate than the input. Given the sequence {u (kT ), y (kJT )k =1,2,...}, where J is a positive integer and T is the basic sampling period, it is proven that the output estimation error converges to zero for instants at or between the output measurement instants. The assumptions required are essentially the same as for the case with equal sampling rates, i.e., for J =1. Simulation examples show excellent output estimation, based on measured y (kJT ) with J =8
