Abstract :
Rigorous asymptotic diffracted fields from a right-angled dielectric wedge are obtained for plane wave incidence. A correction field to the physical optics approximation is derived from a dual series equation amenable to simple numerical calculation. The edge-diffracted cylindrical wave pattern is calculated and shown.
