Abstract :
This paper summarizes a very useful numerical technique that can be used to solve magnetic-field problems in rotating machinery. Positive features of the technique include the fact that it can handle arbitrary boundaries and that only boundary points with appropriate boundary conditions need be specified. This technique is well suited for the interactive, terminal-oriented computer usage that employs APL language, which can handle both vector and matrix data. Several examples are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of this technique and the simplicity of data input to the computer.
