Abstract
Tbe important integrity and reliability peformance considerations for both landing and en route radionavigation in the National Airspace System are discussed and analyzed. The integrity and reliability of the present systems are described in detail to develop a better understanding of the performance that should be expected of alternative radionavigation systems. NAVSTAR GPS is then analyzed and suggestions are made as to how it could be enhanced to provide increased levels of integrity and reliability.
