Abstract :
The authors have fabricated a diffusion-bonded monolithic stack of GaAs plates for quasi-phase-matched second-harmonic generation of a 10.6 mu m CO2 laser. This synthetic nonlinear crystal retains the thermomechanical properties of the bulk material, and has provided phase coherent nonlinear interaction over approximately 0.4 cm.
