Abstract
The construction of broadband thin-film hybrid amplifiers for CATV applications is described. Failure modes and reliability considerations of the major components of the hybrid are discussed. The effects of environmental constraints unique to CATV amplifier service are analyzed and the results of recent analysis and testing done on hybrids designed for resistance to voltage transients are presented.
