Abstract :
Application of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) protocols requires cost-effective interconnection of a wide variety of existing and future networks. Differences in underlying technologies, in administrative control, in available qualifies of service, and in other important factors complicate the task of achieving interconnection This paper discusses a variety of the technical issues related to interconnection within the OSI Network Layer.
