Abstract :
This paper examines the uncertainty caused to the temperature calculations in the head of mobile phone users, due to the value of the thermophysiological parameters of tissues. A literature review can easily show that the values used for such parameters exhibit a large variability (especially blood perfusion rates). In the current study, it is found that both the tissue distribution inside the model and the variability of thermophysiological tissue properties are significant. It is also confirmed that the 10-g averaged specific absorption rate in the whole head is not a good proxy for the expected temperature rise inside the brain.
