Abstract
The bidimensional sampling technique, which is extremely useful when the pattern of an antenna must be reconstructed over a large space region, does not lead to significant saving of computer time when the electromagnetic field must be computed only on a few constant ¿ cuts as in most common design analyses. In these cases the unidimensional sampling theorem can be usefully applied to reconstruct the field E(u) on a constant v=0 plane together with a rotation of the co-ordinate system that transforms each constant ¿-plane into the v=0 plane. The technique is described and the results of computer analyses and experimental tests are presented for an offset multiple beam antenna, showing the obtained computer time reduction and the good agreement between the measurements and analyses.
