Abstract :
A technique for performing successive-approximation A/D conversion, without a successive approximation register, is presented By storing all the digital values appropriately in a read-only memory, it is possible to read out each successive approximation using the current approximation and the comparator output as address. The method may be used to speed up A/D conversion for nonlinear quantization scales.
