Abstract :
The spatial distribution of the blue luminescence associated with the 240 nm absorption band, measured in Ge-doped optical fibre preforms using a wide range of 266 nm excitation power, is presented. The distribution was found to change during the UV exposure, implying a dependence of the absorption band bleaching on the Ge concentration.
