Abstract :
Propagation velocities of normal zones in immersion cooled composite superconductors are analyzed. Normal zones of conductors are wrapped with helium vapour when the heat transfer of liquid helium goes into the film boiling region. The analysis takes into account the latent heat necessary for the vapour film zone to spread or contract.
