  • Abstract
    Silica waveguide Y branching 1*8 splitters were fabricated and found to be highly reliable after housing. The silica waveguide has a splitting excess loss of 0.57 dB. The packaged device has a housing excess loss of 0.89 dB. The measured return loss was over 50 dB above room temperature. The loss deviation under heat cycle testing was 0.46 dB in the temperature range -20-+70 degrees C.
