Abstract :
The least squares formulation of an adaptive antenna is presented, which (with the aid of a calibration curve) may be used to estimate the angle of arrival in the presence of multipath as encountered in a low-angle tracking radar environment. A procedure (based on the Eckart-Young theorem) is proposed for improving the noise performance of the estimator.
