Abstract :
A novel frequency-to-code converter (fDC) circuit is described in this letter. In principle, this fDC is an analog of flash ADC in which voltage levels are substituted by frequency numbers. Ingenious subcircuits, developed to generate reference frequencies and high-low frequency discriminating flags are incorporated in it. Conversion time is equal to the period of the input hertz.
