  • Abstract
Mill drives in the cement industry cover a wide range of mechanical drive and motor applications. This paper includes an overview of the various mill drive options with an emphasis on single motor drives. A more detailed review of the most recent drive development, the compact drive, is featured. In addition, a case study of a mill application is presented to show the effects on voltage drop. The paper concludes with comparative costs on the various combinations of drives and motors
