Abstract :
The author comments on the original paper ("Application of mechanism design to electric power markets", C. Silva et al., see ibid., vol. 16, p. 1-8, 2001). He commends the original authors for their pioneer contribution on the application of mechanism design to electricity markets and seeks their clarifications on several points. The original authors\´ response to these comments is also included.
