Abstract
This paper aims to determine whether renewable energy technologies are ready for mainstream power business and how they can help mitigate the increasing concern of global warming by providing emission-free, environmentally-friendly sources of energy. This paper also presents the various government policies and some development trends to evaluate the state of the technology development and market share of renewable energy technologies.
