Abstract :
The operation of a new type of optoelectronic switch is described. Using the principle of an optically controlled reflection coefficient, the capacitive effects of conventional gap-discontinuity devices are eliminated and the insertion loss can be made extremely low. This switch offers the possibility in the millimetre wave range.
