Abstract :
A mode mixing caused by localised stress in hollow core waveguides is investigated. It is shown that a hollow glass waveguide with a thick glass wall very effectively suppresses low order mode generation resulting from stress, and that a cable made with a thick wall glass waveguide produces a good spatial output mode
