Abstract
The properties of an optical fibre are affected by room temperature variation. At constant temperature, the properties are determined by the physical properties of the glass. However, during and after a temperature change, the optical properties are affected by the fibre stress caused by the differential thermal expansion coefficient between the glass and fibre coating materials
