  • Abstract
    Single-mode and multimode optical fibre splice losses averaging 0.10 dB and 0.04 dB, respectively, have been achieved using a moulded elastomeric tube. Multimode fibre splices were also characterised at various source launch conditions, and no sensitivity to different modal distributions was found.
