Abstract :
The accuracy of current transformers with steady-state dc biasing is estimated by considering a single-valued equivalent magnetizing characteristic and the core losses. Theoretical results confirmed by experimental measurements show that, for metering class transformers built with high-permeability cores, dc biasing level in excess of 0.5 percent rated rms current may cause unacceptable errors.
