Abstract :
Several important properties of a family of epitaxial garnet films having formula EuzY3-zGatFe5-tO12grown by the LPE technique on [111] GGG substrates have been examined in this paper. It has been possible to scan compositions having 0 \\leq t \\leq 1.82 and 0.17 \\leq z \\leq 1.07 by carefully respecting the film-substrate lattice match condition z=0.492 t+0.172 . By measuring and inferring from previous data the gyromagnetic ratio γeff, the saturation magnetization 4\\pi M_{s} , the uniaxial anisotropy field Hu, the Gilbert damping constant α and the exchange stiffness constant A , it is seen that while the separation between the magnetization (tM) and the angular momentum (ts) compensation points is very small, the domain wall mobility is low in the entire range. This suggests that the behavior of α and Huis dominant over that of γeff.
