Abstract :
The intention of this article is merely to provide the reader with some basic concepts that will enable them to better make intelligent decisions when specifying filters. We restrict the discussion to the most common type of filter, the bandpass filter. Bandpass filters are intended to minimize the signal attenuation in one band of frequencies (the passband), while achieving a specified attenuation in another band (the stopband).
