Abstract :
A wideband and highly reflective step-chirped fibre grating filter is embedded in an SC-type connector to reject the optical maintenance signal. The filter is 15 mm long, and its transmission loss and bandwidth (FWHM) >35 dB and 15 nm at wavelengths around 1550 or 1610 nm, respectively. The transmission and mechanical characteristics are confirmed to be stable
