Abstract :
The distributed video codec suffers from a performance gap with respect to classical motion-compensated predictive coding solutions partly on account of the difficulty in modelling the temporal correlation noise without access to the current frame. Introduced is a new distributed video codec based on respective coding of wavelet subbands, which models the temporal correlation in the wavelet coarsest subband domain instead of in pixel domain.
