Abstract :
An analytic solution is presented for evaluating the electromagnetic plane wave scattering from an infinitely long cylinder axially loaded with periodic metallic rings. The periodicity of the structure has been properly considered by expanding the field in terms of cylindrical Floquet harmonics. Numerical results for both TEz and TMz-polarised incident fields are presented and validated as far as possible
