Abstract
Among converter control techniques, the direct current tracking methods give fast and accurate response with good dynamic performance. Unfortunately, in multiswitching systems, these techniques have certain drawbacks. In particular, when the number of controlled switching elements is greater than the number of independent currents, undesirable interactions arise between the control algorithms. This paper proposes a general and systematic approach to decouple the controlled currents. This allows us to adopt simpler current tracking strategies (not discussed in this paper) for each controlled switching element even in complex multiswitching converters. Independence between lower level switching algorithms is achieved by means of a set of decoupling variables. Simulation and experimental results from a case study are reported.
