  • Abstract
    We report short-term noise levels of < 1 deg/h and 10 min drift of < 2 deg/h in a passive fibre gyroscope utilising a fused 3 × 3 fibre coupler and a broadband and partially polarised superluminescent diode. Partially polarised operation of the source is shown to result in less noise than polarised operation.
