Microwave radiation from long Josephson tunnel junctions

Resonant fluxon propagation in long Josephson tunnel junctions gives rise to the emission of microwave radiation from the junction, which may find applications in the local oscillators of an integrated, Josephson microwave receiver system. We have studied the dynamics of such Josephson fluxon oscillators by numerical integration of the circuit equations of multi-section lumped RSJ-type models.
