Abstract
The range resolution of a mono-frequency pulsed radar is limited by the duration of the emitted pulses. For short targets, the different reflectors are closely spaced and their echoes overlap, making them indistinguishable at the receiver. An algorithm based on the MUSIC algorithm combined with a subsampling technique is used to improve the radar´s range resolution and thereafter makes it possible to identify the target according to its length and radar signature.
