  • Abstract
    The experimental optical-fibre submarine cable system with 50 km cable and two repeaters was successfully laid in early June 1982. Optical loss changes of the cable during laying were less than 0.003 dB/km. The experiment will be continued during two or three years to obtain data on the cable and the repeaters.
