Abstract
The cooldown characteristics of the Swiss LCT coil are calculated in the "facility-constrained" mode, using 2-dimensional thermal analysis codes. Indirect cooling, via heat conduction from the casing, is shown to be feasable to cool-down the coil, from 300K to 4K, in approx. 120 hours, Design considerations are included.
