Abstract :
This letter presents the development of an algorithm based on block pulse functions for fundamental frequency component calculation in power system relaying signals. The proposed algorithm is computationally simple and can be used with any sampling frequency. The algorithm is better suited for microprocessor-based power system protective relays.
