Abstract
ZEPHYR, a high-density, high-magnetic-field tokamak concept, has been worked out at Garching. The aim of this experiment is to achieve ignition of a D-T plasma. A maximum magnetic induction value of about 17 T is proposed. Is an alternative to a tape-wound magnet a Bitter-type toroidal field magnet (Fig.1) is investigated.
