Abstract
The magnetic sheet recorder was investigated to aim the development of the High Definition Video Tape Recorder (HD-VTR) which will be able to store the wide band TV signal such as the luminance(Y) signal up to 20MHz and the chrominance(C) signals up to 7MHz. In the early stage of experiments, the Signal to Noise Ratio over 40 dB(p-p/rms) was obtained with 500 μm track width ferrite head for the Y signal (20 MHz) and the 60 μm track width alloy film head for the C signals (4.5 MHz) at the writing speed of 84 m/s.
