  • Abstract
    The transition from a rectangular waveguide to a shielded dielectric image line is analysed by means of a mode-matching technique. The analysis takes into account higher-order modes also beyond the cutoff frequency. The numerical results of this field-theory analysis are in good accordance with measurement, in contrast to the usual transmission-line theory approach.
