Abstract :
This time line is an admittedly incomplete and imperfect snapshot of selected events representing the advance of software production, engineering, and theory—just enough to provide some context for the last 25 years. The time line, along with reflections from all the past editors in chief of IEEE Software and from other luminaries in the field, celebrates the magazine´s 25th anniversary of publication.
