Abstract :
Experiments are described for oblique incidence of magnetostatic forward volume wave (MSFVW) on metal dot arrays (DA). The MSFVW propagate in epitaxial YIG films at microwave frequencies. Different configurations of periodic dot arrays have been tested and their characteristics are reported. The study of propagation of MSVFW through dot arrays had led to evaluation of the velocity variation and the excess of loss induced by a dot array. Empirical relationships are proposed to predict these effects. Preliminary results about oblique reflection from an ion-implanted bar array has been carried out and compared to those obtained with metal dot array.
