Abstract :
A theory for MSW beam steering in anisotropic ferrite film is presented in terms of a generalized dispersion relation in which the magnetic bias field has a general orientation. A computer solution was used to determine steering angle as a function of bias field orientation. Steering angles measured experimentally by an induction probe agree well with theoretical predictions as functions of field misalignment, frequency and propagation direction.
